Research has indicated that oat beta glucan could be capable of penetrating the deeper layers of the skin and delivering significant skin benefits. Furthermore, it has been shown to work as an anti-irritant and speed up wound healing. One study showed that oat beta glucan penetrated the epidermis and reached the dermis by passing in the gaps between cell walls resulting in significant wrinkle depth and height, skin roughness and improved skin firmness.
