The New Way to Work (and think!)

Living in la little city called Adelaide way down south of Australia can sometimes feel like you are disconnected from the rest of the world when it comes to business. Hi my name is Carly Palmer. I have a start up business manufacturing and selling natural beauty products online. Like any other entrepreneur I started my business from an idea, allot of passion and many hours of hard work and sleepless nights. As one often does in a start up situation I have often been stretched to the point where I have questioned if I can go on. But the entrepreneur spark and passion always kicks in and I pick myself up from the floor quickly.
In any business you get to a point where you need to decide to grow and take on staff to ease the pressure or face the possibility of waning and seeing all of your hard work and heart wilt into the empty space of failed businesses. After dealing with the issues that come with having staff this can sometimes be more heartbreak than it was without them. I wanted to continue growing my business at a rate that was comfortable for me and would not cause any more strain on my time. I wanted to keep my social lifestyle and be able to travel and take days off to feel the sand between my toes without feeling guilty or facing a huge mess when I returned to work. It was possible my baby start up business could grow to become my nemesis! Yet I did not want to fade and fizzle. No way, failure is not even an option.
How could I become a small giant in the business world whilst retaining my lifestyle and freedom? That’s when I discovered Elance and the wonderful world of outsourcing. When I discovered the world of freelance professionals my entrepreneur juices were flowing! I could hire professional workers running small businesses just like myself that were willing to put the same passion into their work as I was. In one week I found a writer in the United States, and SEO team in Pakistan and a team of workers in India to undertake research and get quotes I needed for my business. This allowed me to free up so much of my time otherwise spent stressing and working late at night to meet the tight deadlines I place on myself. Since then I have had website templates designed and even learnt how to optimise my own websites.
Elance has allowed me to follow through on my entrepreneurial visions, which would otherwise be held back, due to time and budget restraints. I have also met a wonderful friend and now business partner on Elance. Ron and I have both felt alone in the world of business start ups and now we both have a friend and mentor to inspire and support each other through the tough days.
I am confident that with the help of my global friendly professionals on Elance my business can continue to blossom at a rate I am comfortable with, whilst allowing me to enjoy working on my business not getting lost working for it! I truly feel I am not alone anymore.
